Very disappointed with this spade. Bought it as Bulldog tools are suppossed to be the dogs whatsits. However, the whole item seemed to be very badly made. The shaft and handle were very rough and the shaft of the spade was split at the back where it joined the handle. The rivets wer left rough and not finished off. When you held it you felt as if you were going to damage your hand on the split shaft or the rough rivets. When you are digging you want a nice feel to the tool. It was probably very strong, but that does not make up fot the poor workmanship. Couldn't be doing with that. Send it back.
