Needs two coats to cover brown stain, but I think thats OK, and final finish is good. However, it will not re-coat when dry. I.e. if the first coat is dry, after say 24 hours, the second coat will not bind, so has to be re-coated a third time before the second coat dries, in my case within half an hour. This is tedious, and uses more paint, but it works. Instructions on the tin say can be re-coated 'in 2-8 hours', so I guess this really means re-coat when tacky, not leave to dry for 2-8 hours. I have no idea if this occurs with other colour stains, so cannot comment on comparative value for money.
